While the Galaxy buds are renowned for their comfort and convenience, at times, challenges may arise. When they do, there are some troubleshooting steps that users may undertake to correct the troubling issues. However, the solutions may fail to rectify the problematic issues hence necessitating users to employ more drastic but effective solutions. One such solution is undertaking the reset process.

When it comes to resetting Galaxy buds, folks should bear in mind that there are two reset processes. Namely, these are the soft reset and hard reset. It’s recommended for Galaxy buds users perform a soft reset first. Only when the soft reset process has not returned favourable results can they proceed to do a hard reset. In this article, we are going to expose the step-by-step guide on doing both the soft reset and the hard reset. At the same time, we are going to illustrate how to do a reset process with and without a phone.

Steps for a Soft Reset of Galaxy Buds

  1. Ensure that your Galaxy buds are charged up
  2. Place the earbuds properly in the charging case
  3. Once properly inserted, close the charging case for at least 10 seconds
  4. Open the charging case and remove your earbuds
  5. Try to connect them or pair your Galaxy Buds to your device.

Steps for a Hard Reset (Factory Reset) of Galaxy Buds

Before you start doing a hard reset, you should have a Samsung Galaxy Wearable App if you are using an Android device or the Samsung Galaxy Buds app if you are using an iOS device. If you don’t have one, then you should download and install the app first. Among many other things, the apps allow you to keep all the latest firmware updates on your Galaxy Buds even after a factory reset.

  1. Ensure that your Galaxy Buds are fully charged up
  2. Place the earbuds properly in the charging case (can’t find your Galaxy Buds case, see how to find it here)
  3. While the charging case lid is open, move your Galaxy Buds to close proximity to your mobile device
  4. Open the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app or the Samsung Galaxy Buds app on your phone
  5. On the menu bar, scroll down until you locate the ‘About Earbuds’ option
  6. Under the ‘About Earbuds’ option, click the ‘Reset’ button
  7. When the app asks if you wish to proceed, tap the ‘Reset’ button once more to confirm

*After the hard reset process completes, you can proceed to connect your Galaxy Buds to your device. More often than not, the problems you were having before will all be gone.

Steps for Resetting the Galaxy Buds Without a Phone

Sometimes, your mobile phone might not have enough space to download either the Samsung Galaxy Wearable App or the Samsung Galaxy Buds app. Sometimes, you may just not wish to download these apps for reasons best known to you. In such a case, it doesn’t mean that you cannot reset your earbuds. Even without your phone, it’s still possible to do the reset process. On this front, there are two routes you can choose. These are as follows:

Using the Earbuds Sensors

  1. Place your earbuds properly in your ears
  2. Using both hands, simultaneously touch the sensors on the earbuds for at least 10 seconds (you only stop when you hear a chime – this indicates that the earbuds have reset)
  3. Remove the earbuds and place them in the charging case. Leave them for at least 30 seconds
  4. Take the earbuds out and reconnect them.

Discharging and Recharging

  1. Use your earbuds until they are drained of all power (left with 0%)
  2. Fully recharge them
  3. Try to reconnect

This article exposes the many ways in which you can reset your Galaxy Buds. Whether you have a Samsung phone or not, you can reset your Galaxy Buds. Likewise, whether you have your phone with you or not, you can still reset your earbuds.
