How to Factory Reset Pixel Buds
Once you purchase tech gadgets, especially one-user stuff such as mobile devices and buds, it’s recommended for you to familiarise yourself with key things such as doing a factory reset. This is necessitated by the fact that a factory reset for any product will help eliminate a majority of problematic issues that may arise during the use of that product. This also does apply to Pixel buds.
If you encounter any problems with your Pixel buds and you are sure that the problem has to do with the buds other than your mobile device, you can rectify the issue/s by doing a factory reset. When you do a factory reset, everything on the earbuds including any pairings and connections are all permanently deleted. The factory reset, therefore, feels like you have just purchased a new set of buds as it gives your Pixel buds a new lease of life.
Steps to factory reset your Pixel Buds
- Unlock your device first and head over to the Bluetooth settings
- On the Bluetooth settings page, check for the connected devices. Scroll and search for the Google Pixel Buds. Once you locate the Google Pixel Buds, click the ‘Forget’ button or ‘Unpair’ to unpair your devices
- Properly place the buds in their charging case
- Close the charging case for a few seconds most preferably 10
- Open the charging case but leave the buds inside
- Long press the pairing button which is located on the back of the charging case. The pairing button is placed adjacent to the charging port. As soon as you click the pairing button, the LED light will start to blink. When it stops blinking, that’s when you let go of the pairing button
- Afterwards, the buds themselves will start to blink and after a while, their LED light will turn white. When the buds LED light turns white, the factory reset process will be complete
- After the factory reset process is complete, you can now start pairing your buds with your devices again.
When doing a Pixel buds factory reset, you can only do the process on the charging case. There is no other way you can do this.
Note that the factory reset process gives your Pixel buds a new lease of life. After you complete the process, it’s as if you have purchased a new set of buds. If you undertook the factory reset process because your buds were giving you some problems, the reset process will instantly solve all issues as everything on the buds is permanently deleted and erased. Pairing your buds to your devices after you have done a factory reset will be very easy, simple and fast.
If for some reason problems persist even after you have undertaken the factory reset process, then the odds are likely pointing to your mobile device as the cause. You will therefore need to diagnose any issues on the mobile device.
