How to Clean Pixel Buds
The ‘workplace’ of Pixel buds isn’t exactly the cleanest. Well, if we are to be honest, we can say the ‘workplace’ can be quite dirty – of course, one’s hygiene determines how dirty the workplace can be. If you haven’t got a clue still about the ‘workplace’ we are talking about, it’s your ears.
When tucked in your ears, the Pixel buds may accumulate earwax. Of course, if you don’t take extra care with where you place them after tucking them out of your ears, the buds may also accumulate dirt amongst other dirt. To ensure that your Pixel Buds always perform at the optimum level, you should constantly and consistently clean them. Below we are going to expose and explore how you can clean them. Note though that we will also talk about how you can clean the charging case as the buds may leave some dirt once you place them in the charging case uncleaned.
Ways to Clean the Pixel Buds
- Generally, it’s recommended to use a soft, clean and dry cloth preferably lint-free to gently clean the buds including the charging contacts
- For A-series buds, Google advises users to only use lint-free cloth in cleaning the buds. For Pro buds, Google advises the use of lint-free cloth and if there is still dirt, the use of an adhesive putty is also recommended
- If your buds are quite dirty, you can carefully apply water on the lint-free cloth or use a cotton swab. Gently rub the built-up dirt. However, ensure that you don’t spill droplets into any openings
Ways to Clean the Pixel Buds Charging Case
Your Pixel buds can carry their dirt into the charging case and leave the dirt there. Also, if you aren’t cautious with where you place your charging case especially when open, dirt may find its ways to the inside. As such, the charging case will become the dirt spreader once you place your buds for charging. To prevent this, you should always ensure that both the buds and the charging case are clean. When it comes to the charging case, you can clean them in the following ways:
- Using a soft, clean and dry most preferably lint-free cloth, gently clean the charging case both on the outside and the inside. When cleaning the inside, however, you need to take extra care when cleaning the charging case’s magnetised pools and charging contacts
- If there is too much dirt build up on the charging case, you may apply water to the cloth to gently clean the exterior. Never however attempt to clean the inside of the case with a damp cloth. If water gets to the magnetised pools and charging contacts, irreparable damage can be done.
Keys Things to note
- For users’ convenience, all Pixel buds are water and sweat-resistant. This, therefore, helps them to withstand severe weather conditions and intense workouts
- Pixel buds and the charging case should not be cleaned when plugged into a power source
- Chemicals and detergents should not be used when cleaning either the Pixel buds or the charging case.
