How Can I Find My Pixel Buds
The one thing that we dread after purchasing Pixel buds is losing them. Unfortunately, this sometimes does happen. Sometimes, you may just misplace them when out and about. Sometimes, even inside your own home your buds will miraculously grow a pair of legs and disappear without you noticing. In some instances, however, some unscrupulous individuals may help themselves to your buds without your knowledge.
Once you lose your Pixel buds, you can find solace in the fact that you can trace and possibly recover them on your own. You can trace the buds whether they are still connected to your device or not. The steps to follow in tracking your buds are exposed below. First off, we start with steps to take when the Pixel buds are still connected to your device.
Ring the Pixel Buds if They Are Still Connected to Your Device
If you lose your Pixel buds, the first thing you need to do is to check if they are still connected to your device. If they are, then that’s ‘wonderful’ news. This is necessitated by the fact that you can ring them and easily locate them (of course if they are in close proximity). The ringing starts with a low volume but progressively gets louder.
- If using a Pixel Phone, go to your device settings and open the Bluetooth option. Proceed to open the Bluetooth settings page and check if the buds are still connected. If using any other Android device, open the Google Pixel Buds app and check if the buds are still connected
- Click your paired Pixel Buds name
- Proceed to click the ‘Find Device’ under the paired Pixel Buds name
- Click the ‘Ring Left’ or ‘Ring Right’ so that the buds start ringing. Note that you can ring one or both earbuds. The ring volume starts low but progressively gets louder. Any gesture that you make on the earbuds will stop the sound immediately
- If the sound does not stop after locating your buds, you can silence the buds by clicking the ‘Mute Left’ or ‘Muter Right’ buttons. Alternatively, you can silence the Pixel buds by leaving the ‘Find Device’ page, locking your phone, inserting the buds in the charging case or if they were already in the charging case, closing the charging case.
Check the Last Known Location if the Buds Are No Longer Connected to Your Device
If you check and realise that the Pixel buds are no longer connected to your device, the best you can do is to trace the last known location. Note that this will not exactly give you their current location but rather, point you in a direction to pursue. Sometimes, by checking the last known location, you realise that you probably left them at the workplace, at the coffee shop you visited or any other place you went to.
*Note that you can only trace the last known location of your Pixel buds if you are using a device running on Android 6.0+. Also, you can only check the last known location if your Location (History) settings are turned on.
- If using a Pixel phone, go to the device settings and open the Bluetooth option. Proceed to tap the Settings icon by your Pixel buds name. if using any other device, open the Google Pixel buds app
- Proceed to click the ‘Find Device’ button
- Tap the ‘Last Known Location’ to be redirected to the ‘Find My Device’ page
- Pick the Pixel buds you are searching for from the list presented and you get to see where they were last recorded.
It’s certainly a good thing that you can track your lost or missing Pixel buds. In most instances, the tracking mechanisms explored above allow users to locate their buds with ease.
