How to Pair Pixel Buds

Note that when connecting your pixel buds to your device, there are three main steps you need to take. However, under each step, there are some ‘minor’ steps which help in making the ‘major’ step successful.

The First Step
Connect Pixel Buds to an Android 6.0+ Device
- Open the pixel buds charging case. Ensure that the buds are fully charged. To know that the buds are fully charged up, you should see a white LED light
- Unlock your mobile device and turn on Bluetooth and Location
- Long press the pairing button on the pixel buds charging case which is found on the back of the case. You should long press until the LED light starts pulsing white
- Check your phone for the Google Pixel buds pairing notification. Once the notification pops up, follow the on-screen steps provided.
Connect Pixel Buds to Other Devices
- Open the pixel buds charging case. Ensure that the buds are fully charged. To know that the buds are fully charged up, you should see a white LED light
- Unlock your mobile device and turn on Bluetooth
- Long press the pairing button located on the back of the charging case until the LED light starts pulsing white
- Check for ‘Available Devices’ under your phone’s Bluetooth settings and select the Google Pixel Buds
The Second Step
Fitting the Buds in the Ear
- Pull out the buds ensuring that the eartip is firmly attached to the buds
- With caution, insert the buds in your ears ensuring that they fit perfectly
- If you are having problems with fitting your earbuds, you may try choosing a different eartip. When purchasing Pixel buds, they come with different-sized eartips bearing in mind that the ears of different users are different. The Third Step
Pixel Buds Controls and Gestures
- Once you successfully pair your Pixel buds, you can start enjoying the great convenience they bring. Below are some of the quick controls and gestures you can do to make various commands.
- Single Tap: Helps you answer calls as well as play or pause media
- Double Tap: Allows you to skip a track
- Triple Tap: Allows you to go to the previous track
- Swipe Forward: Increase the volume
- Swipe Backward: Decrease the volume
- Touch and Hold: Allows you to speak and command your Google Assistant (Note that you need to set this up in Assistant settings).
