Sound Isn’t Clear on Echo Buds
The very best technology was used in designing echo buds. It’s against this background that echo buds produce a squeaky clean and clear sound when using them. Well, this is also one of the major reasons why many people love them. If for some reason your echo buds start to release buzzing, squealing or static sounds, then you know, there is a problem somewhere.
The beauty of echo buds is that whatever problem they may bring including poor and inaudible sounds, the solutions aren’t far away and most times, you can employ the solutions yourself and hence correct the problem without involving the technical experts.
In this article, we are going to give a comprehensive rundown of the most common causes of poor echo buds sounds and how you can correct them.
What is causing the sound to be unclear on Echo Buds
- Passthrough Volume is High (Turned On): Echo buds don’t work well with passthrough volume. As such, before you start using your echo buds, always ensure that the passthrough volume is turned down or better still turned off. When echo buds are used at the same time when passthrough volume is turned on (or at a high volume), a feedback noise is detected in the background hence affecting the quality of the sound you end up hearing on your echo buds.
- Sidetone is Turned On: Just like with passthrough volume, echo buds do not work well with sidetone. If you want to use your echo buds, you will need to turn off the sidetone first. when the sidetone is turned on, it allows the echo buds to capture background sounds which in turn affect the quality of the sound you end up hearing. To turn off the sidetone, you should open the Alexa App. Once done, go to ‘Device Settings’ and proceed to select ‘Sidetone’.
- Echo Buds not Securely Fitted: Echo buds release the best sound when they are correctly fitted. If there is any problem with fitting, static may interrupt your sound. To correct this, you need to open the Alexa App. Once you open it, use the fit test to check if everything is securely fitted. Correct everything that’s highlighted to get the best sound.
- The Echo Buds are Dirty: Echo buds are tucked into your ears when using them. The ‘disadvantage’ of this is that once you tuck them in for a considerable long time, earwax may build up on the echo buds. Once the earwax builds up, it affects the sound released. As such, it’s recommended that from time to time, you clean your echo buds to remove any dirt that may have build up. When cleaning your echo buds, however, always use a clean and dry cloth. Don’t be tempted into using any type of cleaning chemicals as they may end up destroying your echo buds or worse, giving you health problems once you tuck your echo buds.
- Bluetooth Connection is Out of Range: Your echo buds do connect to your device (Alexa App) via the Bluetooth connection. As such, at all times, you should ensure that the echo buds and the device are within Bluetooth range. Once the device or the echo buds move out of the Bluetooth range of each other, then the sound will start to muzzle out. the Bluetooth range for most echo buds and mobile phones is 30 feet.
- Poor Internet Connection: Echo buds respond to all Alexa commands via Bluetooth. However, Alexa only responds to your commands if the Alexa App is running well in the background. The Alexa App only runs well when there is a strong and stable internet connection. It does not matter the type of internet connection you may have. However, what’s needed is that the connection remains active and stable at all times. Just bear in mind however when using public WIFI that when you move from one place to another, you may move out of the WIFI range and hence that affects the connection between the Alexa App, your device and the echo buds. Inadvertently, this causes poor or inaudible sounds.
- Audio Settings not Properly Adjusted: Poor sounds may also be caused by poorly adjusted audio settings. As such, you may need to check if the audio settings are properly adjusted. To do this, simply open the Alexa App. Click the ‘Devices’ button and proceed to tap the ‘Echo & Alexa’ button. Proceed to click the ‘Device’ settings and then tap the ‘Audio Settings’ button. on the equaliser, move the cursors on the ‘Bass’, ‘Mid-Range’ and ‘Treble’ bars to properly set the audio settings.
Round Up
There is no need to settle for the second best when you can settle for the very best when it comes to the sound that the echo buds release. If you feel that the sound being released is muzzling or squealing, you can easily change that by employing the quick fixes which are explored above.
